OpenSSL Security Alert. A security alert for OpenSSL has been issued. See OpenSSL Security Advisory [07 Apr 2014] for details. This is the TLS heartbeat read overrun (CVE-2014-0160) issue. Version 1.0.1g of the OpenSSl packages for Solaris 8, 9, 10, 11 have been added on UNIX Packages to provide a fix. The OpenSSH packages have also be updated to version 6.6p1 and to use the new OpenSSL packages.
Sunfreeware.com has hosted pre-compiled software for the Solaris Operating System including the popular Companion CD since 1993. The programs were ported to all versions of Solaris from 2.5 to 10 for both system architectures (SPARC & X86).
INDIVIDUAL PACKAGE AVAILABILITY
UNIX Packages now provides individual packages for Solaris 2.5 thru Solaris 11 consisting of the packages available from the Companion CD together with many other popular freeware packages. These packages are updated on an as needed basis or when an update to Solaris is scheduled. UNIX Packages accepts package requests should the package or version you’re looking for be missing from our repository.
